Intro
Discussion room, meeting room, digital wall, and special databases are available for prior booking using this online portal. IIMB community can pre-book the rooms in the Library for a specific date and time, a maximum of 3 hours a day, and an open reading seat for a day. You have to select the slot as per the availability and fill out the registration form. Once you have finished your registration, the mediator has to approve your booking, and you will get a confirmation email to the registered email id.

How to Book Library Space
Step 1: Please visit the URL https://iimb.libcal.com or scan the QR code.
Step 2: Select the space which is intended for booking.
Step 3: Select your slot according to availability and submit your time.
Step 4: Please read and accept the terms and conditions. Then click on continue.
Step 5: Please enter your details by using the IIMB email ID.
Step 6: Once you submit your booking, the mediator will confirm your booking, and you will receive an autogenerated email with the confirmation.
Informal Discussion Rooms
There are two informal discussion rooms available in the library, one room is located in the basement, and the other one is on the first floor. One team can prebook the informal discussion room for academic purposes, and there should be a minimum of four members in a group.
Formal Discussion Rooms
There are two formal discussion rooms available in the library. One room has a capacity of 8 pers., located in the basement. The second one has a capacity of 6 pers., located on the first floor. One team can pre-book the formal discussion room for academic purposes, and there should be a minimum of four members in a team.
Discussion rooms and Cubicles for individual study: Guidelines
Discussion rooms are available with an online booking app that is accessible on the desktop at the self-serve kiosk.
Bookings are open for Faculty, Visiting Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, FPM Scholars, and Students of all programs.
Terms of use
- Discussion rooms are categorized as formal and informal.
- There must be at two users to book a room
- There should be a minimum of two and a maximum of eight users for booking a formal discussion room
- There should be two users and a maximum of four users for booking an informal discussion room.
- Discussion rooms are intended only for academic and educational purposes but not for interviews, appointments, or other non-academic meetings.
- Any student/intern who intends to use it for interviews may route their request through a faculty.
- Rooms will be allotted based on first-cum first serve.
- A user can book a discussion room for a maximum of 3 hours, and it can’t be renewed.
- A Cubicle can be availed for 3 hours and renewed if there is no demand for the next three hours.
- No lock/key/file cabinet facility should be used for the cubicle.
- If a user is using the space without pre-booking, he/she must vacate the room when a user checks in with a valid reservation.
- The person who booked the room should be responsible for using the room during the booking period.
- Each room will be occupied based on seating capacity. More chairs will not be permitted without prior permission.
- Moderators will cancel the reservation if the reserved person has not checked into the room within 15 minutes of booking.
- The users are responsible for their belongings; the library is not liable for loss of valuables that are left behind.
- Users should maintain a moderate noise level in the discussion rooms and not disturb others
- Leave the room in good condition, and clean up the whiteboard, table, etc. after use.
- Discussion rooms are not intended to protect privacy.
- Food items are not allowed inside the rooms.
- The user must collect the room key from the circulation counter by depositing their ID Card.
KINDLE BORROWING POLICY
Library has 10 Kindle e-readers which has “Kindle unlimited e-book Subscriptions”. The titles include classics, and new titles from fiction, non-fiction and bestsellers.
Kindly read the following Kindle borrowing policy and agree to the Term of Use before borrowing the Kindle:
- Patron must be an authorized user (Faculty, currently enrolled student and Staff) of IIM-B.
- Loan Period: 3 hrs. Within the library premises
- No Renewal
- Timings: 10.00 AM to 8.00 PM (Monday-Friday)
10.00 AM to 5.00 PM (Saturday- Sunday)
- “No Holds” on Kindles are permitted.
- Booking: Kindle devices are available on booking (first cum first serve basis) against deposit of ID Card.
- All Kindles must be checked out and returned to a staff member at the Circulation Desk; all components must be present upon return before it is checked in.
- The responsibility for any damage/loss of Kindle Reader and its accessories is on the reader. In case of damage/loss of the Kindle Reader, the borrower agrees to pay the cost or replace the device/accessories.
- Eligible borrower can borrow kindle for 3 hrs. on first cum first serve basis upon booking of kindle.
- Borrow/Return in person at circulation desk.
- Before checking out a Kindle, users must evaluate its operational condition, and upon its return, the IIM-B Library staff shall ensure that the device is in working order.
- Kindle devices are loaded with collection purchased by the library. As a user, you are entitled to read from the collection. No attempt should be made to purchase/download/transfer titles to the device or import your content to the device.
